๐Ÿ’ณ Zerosum v1.5.5 โ€” Credit Cards, Tamed

Real credit-card budgeting, end to end. Add a card as a Credit Card account and Zerosum auto-moves money into a per-card payment envelope every time you spend, so paying the bill never blindsides your budget. YNAB importers get a per-card choice between the new model and the classic one. Plus a wave of keyboard polish on transaction entry, a sticky Scheduled header, and a long list of fixes underneath.

๐Ÿ’ณ Credit Card Accounts (New Account Type)

  • Spend, and we move the money. Categorize a CC purchase to Groceries (or any spending cat) and Zerosum automatically transfers that amount from Groceries into the card's Payment category โ€” so when the statement lands, the money to pay it is already set aside.

  • A Payment category per card. Each Credit Card account auto-creates a linked payment category in a managed Credit Card Payments group. Locked from accidental delete, locked out of analytics double-counting.

  • Three ways to pay the card. From the toolbar's Make Payment button, the Record Payment CTA on the side panel (pre-fills source, amount, and category for you), or by entering the transfer manually from any budget account.

  • CC account header. A new "Available for Payment" column anchored to the right of the header tells you exactly how much is set aside to pay the card. Coloured green/yellow/red so funding state is readable at a glance.

  • Side-panel cash + credit split. Spending categories that hit a CC now show separate "Cash activity" and "Credit activity" rows in the side panel โ€” you can see exactly how much of this month's Groceries was paid in cash vs. on a card.

  • Cash advances handled. Pulling money from a CC into a budget account routes correctly under the hood (income โ†’ RTA), with no double counting.

๐Ÿ”„ YNAB Import โ€” Choose Your Card Model

  • Per-card toggle in the import wizard. Every credit card or line of credit in your YNAB budget appears in a new Credit Card group on the Review Accounts step with a segmented toggle: Credit Card account (auto-move, the new model) or Budget account (the old "treat the card like checking" model). Default is Credit Card account.

  • A help-center chooser. A revamped Credit Cards article walks you through both models side by side and links to two sub-articles so you can pick the one that matches how you actually use the card before you commit.

  • RTB drift fixed. A subtle bug where a brief positive CC balance (from a refund, then re-spent) caused permanent Ready-to-Budget drift across subsequent months has been closed. Imported budgets now match YNAB's Ready to Assign month-by-month, current and historical.

โŒจ๏ธ Transaction Entry โ€” Hands on the Keyboard

  • Tab commits the highlighted item. Type "groc" in the payee picker, hit Tab, "Grocery Store" lands and focus moves to the next field. Same for category. Shift+Tab commits in reverse.

  • No more disappearing amounts. Typing in Outflow then tabbing through Inflow no longer wipes the value you just entered (the long-standing Reddit-reported bug).

  • Focus chain in edit, too. Editing an inline transaction now advances date โ†’ payee โ†’ category โ†’ note just like adding a new one โ€” previously the chain was add-only.

  • Calendar arrow keys cross months cleanly. Pressing โ†’ on the last day of a month now lands on day 1 of the next month with focus, not stuck on the boundary.

  • Pending-approval edits got the same treatment. Editing a pending imported transaction now picks up loan-cat inverse fill, FNM direction lock, payee-recent auto-fill, full split UX, and a smarter reconciled warning that only fires when you've actually edited something.

๐Ÿ“Œ Sticky Scheduled Header

  • Stays at the top of the register. The Scheduled section header now pins to the top of the transactions list while you scroll โ€” desktop and mobile, all-accounts and per-account.

  • Jump back with one click. Once you've scrolled past the scheduled rows, the header morphs into โ†‘ Scheduled (N) in primary colour. Click anywhere on the bar and you're scrolled back to the top, with the section auto-expanded if it was collapsed.

  • Whole-row hit target. Click anywhere on the bar to toggle collapse (or jump back). The chevron moved into the C column where it lines up with the data underneath.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Forecast Horizon Sticks

  • Drag the slider once. The "Number of Months" setting on the Forecast view is now remembered per user, per budget. Survives navigation, reload, and switching devices โ€” same way analytics filters already did.

๐Ÿฆ Account Polish

  • Last-synced tooltip. Hovering the "Linked" badge on a synced account header now shows "Last synced X ago" instead of just naming the provider โ€” what you actually want to know.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Fixes & Polish

  • Cleared status: manual wins. When a pending bank import is linked to a manual transaction you already entered, the manual's cleared/reconciled state takes priority โ€” bank imports never silently downgrade a row you've already locked in.

  • Bulk approve, smarter. The pending toolbar's Approve button now disables (with a tooltip) when any selected row is missing a required category for a budget or credit-card outflow.

  • Counterpart-type icons. Payee pickers, saved rows, pending rows, mobile drawers, and analytics drilldowns now show consistent Wallet / PiggyBank / CreditCard / Landmark icons matching the sidebar.

  • All-Transactions add prefill. The add row on the All Transactions view now defaults to the first visible budget account in sidebar order.

  • Account combobox order. Accounts in the picker now match the sidebar's section + group order.

  • Mobile split inflow toggle. Fixed a silent data-corruption bug where toggling inflow on a split row in the mobile drawer was writing to the parent transaction's direction instead of the split row's.

๐Ÿ“š Help center

  • Credit Cards: Choose Your Model โ€” new chooser article. Side-by-side decision matrix for the auto-move model vs the classic budget-account model.

  • Credit Cards: Payment Tracking โ€” full walkthrough of the new auto-move flow: how spending funds the Payment cat, the side-panel breakdown, three ways to pay the card, refunds, cash advances.

  • Credit Cards: Budget Account โ€” the classic "treat the card like checking" model, kept as a first-class option.

  • Importing from YNAB โ€” new "Choosing a card type" section covering the per-card toggle in the import wizard.

  • Accounts โ€” Credit Card Accounts added to the Types of accounts list, with starting-balance guidance for cards that already carry debt.
